SmartStandard's Barn Door Hardware Kits offer various features to ensure the stability and safety of the door. The kits include 4 door stoppers that slide along the rail and tighten down at any point to stop the door exactly where desired, with cushioned rubber caps for a quiet close. Additionally, 2 T-shaped floor guides (with anchors) are supplied to prevent the door from swinging out or up against the baseboard. The kits also feature 4 anti-jumpers - small round discs that go on top of the door and prevent it from being lifted off the rail unless they are turned.
When installing the hardware, a headboard may be required if the studs do not align with the pre-drilled holes in the rail or if the "door depth" plus "trim depth" is greater than 2 inches. The kits are designed to work with a minimum of 5 inches of space from the top of the door to the ceiling (or crown molding, if any).
The Barn Door Hardware Kits are versatile, accommodating door thicknesses ranging from 1 3/8 inches to 1 3/4 inches. If the door is thicker, the bolt head can be countersunk into the back side of the door, or longer bolts can be obtained from a local hardware store. Additionally, if the spacing between the door and the wall (or baseboard/doorway trim) is negative, a header board can be bolted to the studs, and the rail can be attached to this header board.
